WV Economic Justice Project
The AFSC WV Economic Justice Project works on issues affecting
low income and working families, such as health care, living wages,
education, social services, and benefits. It assists families with information
about resources and programs and works to improve and protect public
policies and programs and support rational budget priorities.

Direct Action Welfare League, Inc. (DAWG)
is made up of low-income working families, welfare mothers, housing
residents, & people who receive or have received any type of public
assistance. We are the current and former welfare recipients and people
in poverty who struggle everyday to improve our communities. We do whatever
is needed to help .5 people have a voice.

Family Leadership First (FLF)
FLF is a statewide coalition of Family Leadership groups working together
to bring parent and youth voices to community, regional and state policy
tables. Sponsors of the annual "Family Leadership Conference"
at Canaan Valley, FLFprovides family support for citizens to address
the WV Legislature. By coordinating a statewide Peer to Peer Network,
FLF brings together "County Based Family Advocates" that deal
with the issues of disability, mental health, economic and special health
needs facing West Virginia residents.

Mountain State Education and Research
Fund (MSERF)
The purpose of MSERF is to research, analyze and educate on issues of
public interest including environmental protection, corporate and government
accountability, consumer protection, health care, and discrimination.
Among recent issues MSERF has addressed have been a state campaign contribution
database, voter registration & education in minority communities,
and protecting Social Security & Medicaid from cuts in funding.

Formed in 1987, OVEC's mission remains organizing and maintaining a
diverse grassroots organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation
of the environment through education, grassroots organizing, coalition
building, leadership development and media outreach.

The Southern Appalachian Labor School (SALS)
Constructing Change From The Ground Up, SALS mission is to provide education,
research, and linkages for working class and disenfranchised peoples
in order to promote change, empowerment, and understanding. SALS is
committed to social, economic, and environmental justice for the Appalachian
People. Currently, our major focus is on coordinating state and federal
programs to provide adequate housing for those in sub-standard living
conditions.

Step by Step (SBS)
Step by Step works with families and communities to support their children
throughout their growing up years through after school, summer, arts,
recreation, behavioral and physical health promotion and youth and family
leadership initiatives. Based at the Big Ugly Community Center (Harts)
with collaborations in Mingo, Logan, Lincoln and Kanawha county community
centers and schools.

WV FREE
The mission of WV FREE is to further and protect reproductive rights
of all West Virginia women. WV FREE represents a wide variety of people
in West Virginia. Organizations affiliated with WV FREE include social
justice organizations, student groups, social workers, health care providers,
and a broad array of religous groups. Our members are affiliated organizations
work to promote family planning and protect reproductive freedom for
all West Virginian women. We are a 50c(c)(3) non-profit organization.

West Virginia Highlands Conservancy (WVHC)
WVHC Since 1965, the WV Highlands Conservancy has worked to promote,
encourage, and work for conservation- including both preservation and
wise management- and appreciation of the natural resources of West Virginia
and the Nation, and especially of the Highlands Region of West Virginia,
for the cultural, social, educational, physical, spiritual and economic
benefit of present and future generations of West Virginians and Americans.

West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps, Inc. (WVMAW)
WVMAW provides advocacy and volunteers to help survivors of disaster.
WVMAW brings 40-45 groups per year to work on homes damaged by floods
and other disaster.Additionally, participates in several wastewater
initiatives, providing leadership and funding toward needed wastewater
treatment.

West Virginia Rivers Coalition (WVRC)
Formed by paddlers in 1989, WV Rivers Coalition is a statewide organization.
Supporting over 100 watershed groups in West Virginia, WVRC works hard
for the conservation and restoration of our rivers by enforcing the
Federal Clean Water Act. West Virginia has over 32,000 miles of wild
and wonderful rivers while 6,000 miles are already polluted, destroying
what was given to us. West Virginia Rivers Coalition believes everyone
deserves clean rivers for a healthy environment, a profitable economy
and to create desirable communities.
